Being limited can be exhausting

But we carry a unique passion in our hearts

Any addiction could be a sign of sorrow

Maybe trying to avoid facing tomorrow

Wishing that the numbing effect could somehow last

I'm so tired, beyond exhausted

Dealing with something so complicated

Sometimes it feels I've been forgotten

Tossed aside like trash that's rotten

It's not always easy to know

When to hold on or to let go

Sometimes it's hard to stand on my own

Because it feels like I'm in it all alone

A shot, a line, possibly a hit

Or maybe a hit-it-and-quit-it

I know the escape is only brief

I try to cherish that sweet relief
