126. Quadrupled

Thirty-two years ago, with a son in your womb
You looked over the freeway with sadness and gloom
Hoping, wishing, and crying you’ll soon see that car
With your son’s dad who spent a weekend at the bar

You don’t understand how he could just up and leave
Regardless, you waited with hunger and believed
This was just a phase, it would all be over soon
Once he arrived home late Sunday afternoon

He had spent his entire paycheck on partying
You had spent your weekend alone and worrying
You promised yourself you’d do better for your son
He wouldn’t suffer the way you did, you weren’t done

Your strength and legacy has quadrupled through us
Through your four children, strong Sagittarius
A woman of faith, now you can look on with peace
Achieving your success, now you can rest at ease
