164. Divisive Rhetoric

Living in the midst of a broken nation
Still feels like a startling revelation
I weep for the racist separation
For blood that's shed in violent altercations

I truly thought we had moved forward
Divisive rhetoric takes us backward
With a sound mind, let's try to move ahead
With peace and love, not leaving anyone dead

Primero Latino, Americano segundo
Arriesgando la piel por este momento
Haciendo lo que puedo con mis paisanos
A pesar del riesgo, en la lucha sigamos

For someone who’s from a shithole country
I’ll stand my ground, fight for what’s right, won’t flee
Can’t respect a hateful presidency
That puts greed above truth and honesty
