158. Mistaken

I know what it’s like to live through poverty
That’s why I embrace new opportunities
Hardships and betrayals haven’t changed me
I won’t be controlled by my anxieties
You’d be surprised by the shit that I’ve been through
You’ll wonder how I’ve kept it together like glue

I’ve been criticized for the path that I’ve taken
I’ve been abandoned, rejected, and forsaken
If you thought I’d stay broken, you were mistaken
With every new trial, my passion is awakened

I’ve slept on the floor and gone to bed hungry
Wandered like a gypsy with no place to call home
Loneliness causing me to shed tears quietly
Blinded by fear, I’ve navigated the unknown
At the end of the day, here I am still standing
These experiences have made me understanding
